* Flash Flood Warning for...
Northeastern St. Tammany Parish in southeastern Louisiana...
Southeastern Washington Parish in southeastern Louisiana...
Hancock County in southern Mississippi...
Southern Pearl River County in southern Mississippi...

* Until 115 AM CDT.

* At 1022 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain
have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Bogalusa, Picayune, Diamondhead, Sun, Mcneil, Stennis Space Center,
Crossroads, Bush and Kiln.

Due to already very saturated grounds and high rivers, any additional
rainfall will quickly turn to run off and lead to flash flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Tchefuncte River above U.S. Highway 190 Near Covington.

* WHEN...Until late Sunday night.

* IMPACTS...At 22.0 feet, Tchefuncte River camp grounds will be under
a few inches of water. The Goodbee community is threatened with
flooding. Water will invade Camp Tchefuncte's parking lot. Vehicles
must be removed to higher ground.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 7:30 PM CDT Friday the stage was 22.9 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 16.0 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending
at 7:30 PM CDT Friday was 23.7 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage late
Sunday evening and continue falling to 17.2 feet Wednesday
evening.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 23.0

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Bogue Falaya River at Boston St in Covington.

* WHEN...Until Saturday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 7.0 feet, Water will rise onto the west bank flooding
property of the Bogue Falaya Towers at East Boston Street and
threatening commercial property on the east bank near Military
Road. Bogue Falaya River Park and Christ Episcopal School grounds
will begin to flood.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 7:30 PM CDT Friday the stage was 6.8 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 4.0 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending
at 7:30 PM CDT Friday was 8.8 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage just
after midnight tonight and continue falling to 3.0 feet Wednesday
evening.

* WHEN...Until Wednesday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 11.0 feet, The access road upstream of the bridge will
flood. The river will leave the main channel on the left bank below
the bridge flooding woodlands on either side of Louisiana Highway
21.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 7:15 PM CDT Friday the stage was 11.8 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 9.0 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending
at 7:15 PM CDT Friday was 12.0 feet.
