CHARLES, SOUTHWESTERN ORLEANS, EASTERN TERREBONNE, JEFFERSON, EAST CENTRAL LAFOURCHE AND NORTHWESTERN PLAQUEMINES PARISHES THROUGH 330 PM CDT ... At 204 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of showers and thunderstorms capable of producing tropical funnel clouds along a line extending from near Kenner to near Avondale to near Lafitte to 6 miles northeast of Golden Meadow. Movement was east at 10 mph. HAZARD...Funnel clouds. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...If a funnel cloud briefly touches down, minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... New Orleans, Kenner, Chalmette, Cut Off, Galliano, Avondale, Larose, Metairie, Marrero, Harvey, Timberlane, Belle Chasse, Port Sulphur, Hahnville, Jefferson, Gretna, Harahan, Westwego, Golden Meadow, and Jean Lafitte. This includes the following Interstates... Interstate 10 in Louisiana between mile markers 212 and 247. Interstate 310 between mile markers 1 and 7. Interstate 510 between mile markers 1 and 3. Interstate 610 between mile markers 1 and 4. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Conditions are favorable for the development of weak, brief funnel clouds. This type of funnel cloud is harmless, but on rare occasions they can briefly touch down, producing wind gusts over 50 mph.
