* WHERE...Calcasieu River near Glenmora.

* WHEN...From this morning to Sunday evening.

* IMPACTS...At 12.0 feet, When the river is falling and the gauge
reading is forecast to be near 12 feet, flooding of forested areas
near the river will occur.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:45 AM CDT Friday the stage was 12.1 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 9:45 AM CDT Friday was 12.1 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 12.6
feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below
flood stage early Sunday afternoon.
- Flood stage is 12.0 feet.

* Flash Flood Warning for...
Avoyelles Parish in central Louisiana...
Northern Evangeline Parish in central Louisiana...
Rapides Parish in central Louisiana...
Vernon Parish in west central Louisiana...

* Until 300 PM CDT Friday.

* At 856 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 4 inches of rain
have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 4 inches are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Alexandria, Pineville, Leesville, Marksville, Bunkie, Rosepine,
Glenmora, Boyce, Moreauville, Anacoco, Cheneyville, Hineston,
