At 917 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated a cluster of strong
thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots and weak
waterspouts. This cluster of thunderstorms is generally located 16 nm
northeast of Ship Shoal 198, or 21 nm southwest of Isle Derniers,
moving southwest at 20 knots.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect widespread gusty winds to around 30 knots, higher
waves and dangerous lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe
harbor immediately until this activity passes.

Brief, weak waterspouts are possible with this activity. Remain on
alert in case warnings are issued for waterspout development.

Intense lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.

At 916 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms over Raceland, or 12 miles northeast of Houma, moving
southwest at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Houma, Thibodaux, Larose, Lutcher, Lockport, Mathews, Schriever,
Chauvin, Dulac, Raceland, Chackbay, Montegut, Bayou Cane, Cocodrie,
Gray, Paradis, Des Allemands, South Vacherie, North Vacherie, and
Bayou Gauche.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
