The Flood Warning continues for
the Calcasieu River NEAR White Oak Park.
* Until late Monday night.
* At 9:35 AM CDT Friday the stage was 2.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 2.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending
at 9:35 AM CDT Friday was 2.9 feet.
* Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage Monday
evening and continue falling to 1.8 feet Wednesday morning.
* Impact...At 3.0 feet, Water over lowest portions of Goos Ferry
Road. Cars should be moved to higher ground.

AVOYELLES AND ST. LANDRY PARISHES UNTIL 545 PM CDT...

At 501 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Lena to near Elmer to near Oakdale to Lake
Charles to near Holly Beach. Movement was east at 20 mph.

Penny size hail and winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with
these storms.

Locations impacted include...
Lafayette, Lake Charles, Alexandria, Sulphur, Opelousas, Pineville,
Crowley, Abbeville, Eunice, Jennings, Scott, Rayne, Oakdale,
Carencro, Ville Platte, Cameron, Marksville, Kaplan, Westlake and
Church Point.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued an Airport
Weather Warning for the Lake Charles Regional Airport.

The following hazards are expected within a 5 statute mile radius:
A line of storms moving east will bring in numerous cloud to
ground lightning strikes... heavy rains... low visibility. Storms
will last for several hours.

* Wind speeds of 40 mph or greater
* Hail one half of an inch in diameter or larger
* Cloud to ground lightning

From 443 PM CDT until 700 PM CDT.

* Flood stage is 4.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending
at 6:00 AM CDT Friday was 4.8 feet.
* Forecast...The river will oscillate around flood stage with a
maximum value of 4.6 feet this afternoon.
