* Until 500 PM CDT.

* At 1247 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 10 inches of rain
have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Marksville, Bunkie, Cheneyville, Morrow, Bayou Current, Lecompte,
Echo, Big Cane, Whiteville, Brouillette, Indian Lake, Lebeau, Lake
Ophelia National Wildlife Refuge, St. Landry and Forest Hill.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

possible.

* WHERE...Portions of central, southwest, and west central
Louisiana, including the following parishes, in central Louisiana,
Avoyelles, Evangeline, Rapides and St. Landry. In southwest
Louisiana, Allen and Beauregard. In west central Louisiana, Vernon.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Calcasieu River near Glenmora.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, Some roads upstream from Glenmora,
including Strothers Crossing Road near the community of Calcasieu
and Price Crossing Road near Hineston have two to three feet of
water over the road and are subject to being closed. Flooding of
forested areas near the river will also occur.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:45 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 13.7 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 9:45 AM CDT Thursday was 14.2 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall to 12.6 feet Tuesday
morning.
- Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
