At 752 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms near Arabi, or 7 miles west of East New Orleans, moving
southwest at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
New Orleans, Metairie, Chalmette, Marrero, Harvey, Avondale,
Timberlane, Jefferson, Gretna, Harahan, Westwego, Woodmere, Elmwood,
Terrytown, Bridge City, River Ridge, Ama, Estelle, Waggaman, and
Arabi.

This includes the following Interstates...
Interstate 10 in Louisiana between mile markers 221 and 244.
Interstate 310 between mile markers 1 and 3.
Interstate 610 between mile markers 1 and 4.

At 731 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated a cluster of strong
thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots and weak
waterspouts. This cluster of thunderstorms is generally located over
Mandeville, moving southwest at 15 knots.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect widespread gusty winds to around 30 knots, higher
waves and dangerous lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe
harbor immediately until this activity passes.

Brief, weak waterspouts are possible with this activity. Remain on
alert in case warnings are issued for waterspout development.

Intense lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.
