...A FLOOD ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...The Flood Advisory is for portions Laurel and Jackson counties in Kentucky. * WHEN...The Flood Advisory is in effect until 1100 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low lying and poor drainage areas is expected. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 910 PM EDT, weather radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms had occurred. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. More than an inch of rain has likely fallen in some locations in an hour's time. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... London, Mcwhorter, Langnau, Greenmount, Atlanta, Maplesville, Crawford, Deer Lick, Moores Creek, Portersburg, Benge, Royrader, Peoples, Green Hill, Victory, Fogertown, Pittsburg, Datha, Cornelius and East Bernstadt. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. &&
