...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 415 AM EDT EARLY THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall are
expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast Kentucky, including the following
counties, Bell, Clay, Harlan, Knox, Leslie, Letcher and Perry.

* WHEN...Until 415 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 110 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Excessive runoff will cause minor flooding of
small streams and creeks, roads, and roadside culverts.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Barbourville, Harlan, Cumberland, Loyall, Evarts, Lynch,
Benham, Wallins Creek, Bledsoe, Chappell, Napier, Mozelle,
Rosspoint, Baxter, Spruce Pine, Golden Ash, Warbranch,
Clovertown, Kitts and Harlan Gas.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Portions of east central, northeast, south central, and
southeast Kentucky, including the following counties, in east
central Kentucky, Elliott, Estill, Menifee and Powell. In
northeast Kentucky, Johnson and Martin. In south central Kentucky,
Laurel, McCreary, Pulaski, Rockcastle, Wayne and Whitley. In
southeast Kentucky, Bell, Breathitt, Clay, Floyd, Harlan, Jackson,
Knott, Knox, Lee, Leslie, Letcher, Magoffin, Morgan, Owsley,
Perry, Pike and Wolfe.

* WHEN...Until 4 AM EDT Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Following showers and thunderstorms earlier today that
produced heavy rainfall, additional thunderstorms containing
torrential downpours will impact the area through tonight.
Some locations will receive multiple rounds of heavy
rainfall, potentially leading to instances of high water and
flash flooding.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood
Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
to take action should flooding develop.
