...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 AM EDT TUESDAY... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Kentucky, including the following counties, Breathitt, Magoffin and Wolfe. * WHEN...Until 100 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1041 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Jackson, Salyersville, Mason, Simpson, Bays, Cornelia, Rousseau, Mountain Valley, Guage, Dale, Stevenson, Eugene, Puncheon, Camp Lewis, Seiltz, Rock Lick, Burkhart, Cutuno, Lunah and Haginsville. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely. &&
