Special Weather Statement
Issued: 4:12 PM Jul. 25, 2021 – National Weather Service
...HEAT INDEX VALUES 100 TO 105 TODAY... Late this morning, several areas over southeast Missouri had heat index values pushing up to the 105 degree mark, with 100 to 105 common into west Kentucky. This trend should continue into the afternoon. However, with the chance of showers and thunderstorms on the increase, relief is anticipated, be it from the rain, added clouds or winds from nearby storms. Until then, remember, the heat affects us all differently. Given the very high humidity, little relief from the heat will be found unless indoors in air conditioning. Exercise caution if you must be outside for an extended period of time today.
