At 319 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Hilda, or near Morehead, moving northeast at 50 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Morehead, Cranston, Ramey, Munson, Brandy, Bluestone, Haldeman, Triplett, Clearfield, Christy, Rodburn, Hilda, Ringos Mills, Freestone, Sharkey, Hillsboro, Hays Crossing, Grange City, Plummers Landing, and Gates. ...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 530 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of east central Kentucky, including the following counties, Bath, Fleming and Rowan. * WHEN...Until 530 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 221 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Up to 1.5 inches of rain have fallen over the past couple of hours. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are expected over much of the advisory area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Ringos Mills, Hillsboro, Plummers Landing, Grange City, Sharkey, Hilda and Hays Crossing.
