...A FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE TONIGHT... * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...The Flood Watch includes the Kentucky counties of Bath, Elliott, Estill, Menifee, Montgomery, Powell, Rowan, Johnson, Martin, Laurel, McCreary, Pulaski, Rockcastle, Wayne, Whitley, Bell, Breathitt, Clay, Floyd, Harlan, Jackson, Knott, Knox, Lee, Leslie, Letcher, Magoffin, Morgan, Owsley, Perry, Pike, and Wolfe. * WHEN...The Flood Watch is in effect through late tonight. * IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Multiple periods of showers and thunderstorms containing torrential downpours are expected to impact the area this afternoon and evening. A widespread 1 to 2 inches of rainfall is anticipated across the watch area. However, localized amounts of 2 to 3 inches or more are possible in locations where thunderstorms are most persistent.
