...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM CDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Heat index values up to 106. * WHERE...Anderson, Coffey, Douglas, Franklin, Lyon, Osage, Shawnee, and Jefferson Counties. * WHEN...Until 8 PM CDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and even heat stroke. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. &&

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM CDT SUNDAY THROUGH MONDAY MORNING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of east central and northeast Kansas, including the following counties, in east central Kansas, Anderson, Coffey, Douglas, Franklin, Geary, Lyon, Morris, Osage, Shawnee and Wabaunsee. In northeast Kansas, Jefferson. * WHEN...From 1 AM CDT Sunday through Monday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A couple of rounds of thunderstorms are expected this evening through Monday morning. The first round comes this evening into Sunday morning with the second round coming Sunday evening into Monday morning. Rainfall rates of 1 to 3 inches per hour are likely within these storms which could lead to flooding, especially if storms move over the same areas. A general 1 to 3 inches of rainfall is expected with localized areas of 3 inches or more possible. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
