...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1030 AM CDT THIS MORNING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of South Central Kansas, including the following county, Cowley. * WHEN...Until 1030 AM CDT Monday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 131 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated continued moderate to heavy rain due to scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms. Between 2 and 5 inches of rain fell across portions of Butler and Cowley counties since Sunday evening. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area overnight. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... Arkansas City, Winfield, Andover, Augusta, Rose Hill, Douglass, Udall, Leon, Burden, Dexter, Atlanta, Latham, Rock, Cambridge, Winfield City Lake, Strother Field Airport, Maple City, Augusta Municipal Airport, Santa Fe Lake and Beaumont. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely. &&
