In east central Kansas, Geary, Morris, Shawnee and Wabaunsee. In north central Kansas, Clay, Cloud, Ottawa, Republic and Washington. In northeast Kansas, Brown, Jackson, Jefferson, Marshall, Nemaha, Pottawatomie and Riley. * WHEN...Through Thursday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A slow-moving, moisture-laden system is expected to bring an additional 1.5 to 3 inches of rain with locally higher amounts around 4 inches. This on top of already saturated ground for locations that saw the heaviest rain last night would see an increased risk for flooding. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... ...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM CDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Marshall County in northeastern Kansas... * WHEN...Until 900 PM CDT Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1215 PM CDT, emergency management reported heavy rain had fallen in the advisory area. Minor flooding is already occurring. Highway 87 and 99 are closed in the Vermillion area due to flooding. Between 1.5 and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... Marysville, Blue Rapids, Frankfort, Waterville, Axtell, Beattie, Vermillion, Oketo, Lillis and Bremen. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
