...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT CST /11 PM MST/ SATURDAY NIGHT... * WHAT...Snow. Additional snow accumulations between 2 and 4 inches. * WHERE...Portions of northwest and west central Kansas. * WHEN...Until midnight CST /11 PM MST/ Saturday Night. * IMPACTS...Roads, especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday evening commute. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Slow down and use caution while traveling. For road conditions in Kansas, Nebraska, and Colorado call 511. Do not use GPS for alternate routes or go around barricades. Persons are urged to stay indoors until conditions improve. If you must go outside, dress in layers. Several layers of clothes will keep you warmer than a single heavy coat. Cover exposed skin to reduce your risk of frostbite or hypothermia. Gloves, a scarf, and a hat will keep you from losing your body heat. Make sure you have an adequate supply of food. Check to ensure you have an adequate supply of necessary medical supplies, such as prescriptions and oxygen, through the duration of the storm. Check furnaces and fuel levels. If travel is necessary make sure your car is winterized and in good working order. Persons traveling on Interstate 70 will experience travel delays and hazardous driving conditions.
