...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM CDT THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Localized flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...A portion of South Central Kansas, including the following
county, Reno.

* WHEN...Until 1100 AM CDT Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, city streets, and
other low-lying and flood-prone locations is possible.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 111 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Up to 3 inches of rain have fallen over west
and southwest portions of Reno county, with additional
rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches possible through Thursday
morning.
- Some locations that may experience flooding include...
Pretty Prairie, Arlington, Turon, Partridge, Sylvia, Plevna,
Abbyville, Langdon, Cheney Lake and Cheney State Park.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two
feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't
drown.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Portions of Central, South Central, and Southeast Kansas,
including the following counties, in Central Kansas, Chase,
Ellsworth, Marion, McPherson, Rice and Saline. In South Central
Kansas, Butler, Cowley, Harvey, Reno and Sedgwick. In Southeast
Kansas, Allen, Chautauqua, Elk, Greenwood, Labette, Montgomery,
Neosho, Wilson and Woodson.

* WHEN...Through midday Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, city streets, and other low-lying and flood-prone
locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms will expand
east to southeast across the region overnight and persist
into Thursday morning. The primary hazard will be areas of
heavy rainfall and localized flooding concerns.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood
Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
to take action should flooding develop.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT FROM LATE THURSDAY NIGHT TO SATURDAY
EVENING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Little Arkansas River at Alta Mills.

* WHEN...From late Thursday night to Saturday evening.

* IMPACTS...At 25.0 feet, About a 500 ft wide overflow may be
expected across Highway 50, located about 6 miles south of the
gage site around River Park Road. Directly south of the gage
expect the low lying area to be inundated for a few miles. North
of the gage, overflow may be about half mile wide. Expect fields
and cropland to be flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:15 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 0.1 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
early Friday morning to a crest of 24.2 feet Friday evening.
It will then fall below flood stage Saturday morning.
- Flood stage is 22.0 feet.

River Flood Warning

...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM LATE THURSDAY NIGHT TO EARLY
MONDAY AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Cow Creek near Hutchinson.

* WHEN...From late Thursday night to early Monday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 10.5 feet, There are numerous road closures northwest
of Hutchinson due to high water. Low water crossing on 43rd Street
just east of Pennington floods. Expect road closure on 43rd Street
between Pennington to Hendricks roads. Also 69th Street floods
between Wilson to Pennington roads. Then 50th Street floods
between Wilson and Pennington roads. Flooding occurs along
Pennington Road from Nickerson Blvd to 50th Avenue.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 7:15 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 2.3 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
early Friday morning to a crest of 10.4 feet early Friday
afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage early Monday
morning.
- Flood stage is 9.5 feet.
