...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON...
...REPLACES FLASH FLOOD WARNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is ongoing.

* WHERE...Portions of Kansas, including the following counties,
Johnson, Leavenworth and Wyandotte and west central Missouri,
including the following counties, Clay, Jackson and Platte.

* WHEN...Until 100 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads
remain closed due to flooding. It will take several hours for all
the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems
in urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 821 AM CDT, numerous credible reports of heavy, excessive,
rainfall. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
Between 4 and 9 inches of rain have fallen.
- Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
expected.
- Some locations that may experience flooding include...
Kansas City, Overland Park, Olathe, Shawnee, Lenexa, Leawood,
Liberty, Gladstone, Grandview, Prairie Village, Gardner,
Lansing, Merriam, Mission, Bonner Springs, De Soto,
Parkville, Spring Hill, Basehor and Edwardsville.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Indian Creek at Stateline Road Leawood.

* WHEN...Until just after midnight tonight.

* IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Water begins to cover the portion of Lee
Boulevard located south of Interstate 435.
At 23.0 feet, Parking lot just west of State Line Road begins to
flood.
At 25.0 feet, Water begins to cover portions of State Line Road.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 7:30 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 23.4 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 23.9
feet late this morning. It will then fall below flood stage
this afternoon.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Indian Creek at Overland Park.

* WHEN...Until this evening.

* IMPACTS...At 8.0 feet, Low-lying land along the creek begins to
flood, including a paved bike and walking path.
At 14.3 feet, Flood waters threaten basements along Lowell and
Antioch road.
At 15.1 feet, Flood waters reach Antioch Road 600 feet north of
Indian Creek. Water also reaches buildings near the creek along
Antioch Road West 106th Circle and El Monte cul de sac.
At 16.5 feet, Flood waters approach homes along Conser Street.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 2:55 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 9.8 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
early this morning to a crest of 15.7 feet this morning. It
will then fall below flood stage this morning.
- Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
