...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM CDT TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of east central Kansas, including the following
counties, Johnson and Miami and west central Missouri, including
the following county, Cass.

* WHEN...Until 400 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams
continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1047 PM CDT, local law enforcement reported heavy rain in
the warned area due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or
expected to begin shortly. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain
have fallen.
- Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
expected.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Spring Hill, Peculiar, Louisburg, Edgerton, Cleveland, Lake
Annette, West Line, Chiles, Bucyrus, Wagstaff, Hillsdale and
Stilwell.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
