For the Wind Advisory, south winds 25 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected. * WHERE...Portions of central, east central, north central, and northeast Kansas. * WHEN...For the Heat Advisory, until 9 PM CDT this evening. For the Wind Advisory, from 10 AM this morning to 8 PM CDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Small tree limbs could be blown down too. Isolated power outages may result. Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and even heat stroke. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution while driving. Secure outdoor objects. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles.
