...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM CDT SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of central Kansas, including the following
county, Russell.

* WHEN...Until 600 AM CDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1121 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the warned area. Between 2 and 3.5 inches of rain
have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in
the warned area with locally higher amounts possible.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Russell, Lucas, Gorham, Luray, Dorrance, Bunker Hill,
Paradise, Waldo, Russell Airport, Wilson Lake and Wilson
State Park.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two
feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't
drown.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
