* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 321 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the warned area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Coffeyville, Independence, Cherryvale, Caney, Sedan, Cedar
Vale, Dearing, Elk City, Tyro, Peru, Liberty, Chautauqua,
Havana, Bolton, Sycamore, Niotaze, Hale, Independence

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Portions of South Central and Southeast Kansas, including
the following counties, in South Central Kansas, Cowley, Harper,
Kingman and Sumner. In Southeast Kansas, Chautauqua, Labette and
Montgomery.

* WHEN...Through Saturday morning.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur
in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be
flooded. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood
with more heavy rain.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Another complex of thunderstorms is expected across southern
Kansas tonight. Given very wet antecedent conditions,
additional heavy rainfall may aggravate ongoing flooding.

Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
