...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 AM CDT THIS MORNING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall remains possible. * WHERE...Portions of south central and southeast Kansas, including the following counties, in south central Kansas, Butler. In southeast Kansas, Allen, Elk, Greenwood, Wilson and Woodson. * WHEN...Until 800 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 342 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicate 1 to 3 inches of rain fell in a short period of time overnight across the warned area. - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... Iola, Eureka, Humboldt, Yates Center, Madison, La Harpe, Gas, Moran, Toronto, Hamilton, Severy, Neosho Falls, Latham, Climax, Virgil, Coyville, Mildred, Bassett, Cross Timbers State Park and Toronto Lake. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely. &&
