Low water crossing on 43rd Street just east of Pennington floods. Expect road closure on 43rd Street between Pennington to Hendricks roads. Also 69th Street floods between Wilson to Pennington roads. Then 50th Street floods between Wilson and Pennington roads. Flooding occurs along Pennington Road from Nickerson Blvd to 50th Avenue. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:15 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 4.5 feet and rising. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage tomorrow afternoon to a crest of 10.5 feet early Thursday afternoon. ...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 1030 AM CDT WEDNESDAY... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Portions of Central and South Central Kansas, including the following counties, in Central Kansas, McPherson and Rice. In South Central Kansas, Reno. * WHEN...Until 1030 AM CDT Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1037 AM CDT, trained weather spotters reported heavy rain in the warned area due to thunderstorms from the previous day. Flooding is ongoing. Between 2 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Hutchinson, Mcpherson, Lyons, South Hutchinson, Sterling, Inman, Buhler, Haven, Nickerson, Galva, Little River, Chase, Arlington, Partridge, Alden, Windom, Abbyville, Raymond, Yoder and Willowbrook. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown.
