...HEAT ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM CDT THURSDAY... * WHAT...Afternoon and early evening heat index values of at least 105-110 degrees. * WHERE...Mitchell, Osborne, and Rooks Counties. * WHEN...Until 9 PM CDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Overnight temperatures will drop no lower than the mid 70s across most of the area...providing only limited relief from the heat. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. &&
