* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Portions of Central, South Central, and Southeast Kansas,
including the following counties, in Central Kansas, Chase,
Marion, McPherson and Rice. In South Central Kansas, Butler,
Cowley, Harper, Harvey, Kingman, Reno, Sedgwick and Sumner. In
Southeast Kansas, Allen, Chautauqua, Elk, Greenwood, Labette,
Montgomery, Neosho, Wilson and Woodson.

* WHEN...Until 1 PM CDT this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more
heavy rain.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood
Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
to take action should flooding develop.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT FROM THIS EVENING TO LATE FRIDAY
MORNING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Little Arkansas River at Alta Mills.

* WHEN...From this evening to late Friday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 25.0 feet, About a 500 ft wide overflow may be
expected across Highway 50, located about 6 miles south of the
gage site around River Park Road. Directly south of the gage
expect the low lying area to be inundated for a few miles. North
of the gage, overflow may be about half mile wide. Expect fields
and cropland to be flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1:15 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 11.4 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
late this evening to a crest of 24.3 feet tomorrow morning.
It will then fall below flood stage late tomorrow evening.
- Flood stage is 22.0 feet.

River Flood Warning

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY MORNING TO FRIDAY
AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Little Arkansas River near Halstead.

* WHEN...From Thursday morning to Friday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 26.0 feet, Riverside Park floods north of the river.
Flood waters may begin to encroach on K89 just north of the river
bridge along with a trailer park and a few residences north of
Halstead. Expect field flooding on both sides of Halstead Road
north of the flood gates. More field flooding occurs north of
Highway 50 on the east bank of the river. Just southeast of the
city, SW 48th St becomes impassable from Hertzler Rd to Essex
Heights.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1:30 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 14.5 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
tomorrow morning to a crest of 26.2 feet early tomorrow
afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage early Friday
morning.
- Flood stage is 25.0 feet.
