THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 390 IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 AM MDT /2 AM CDT/ THURSDAY FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN KANSAS THIS WATCH INCLUDES 13 COUNTIES IN NORTHWEST KANSAS CHEYENNE DECATUR GRAHAM NORTON RAWLINS SHERIDAN SHERMAN THOMAS IN WEST CENTRAL KANSAS GOVE GREELEY LOGAN WALLACE WICHITA IN NEBRASKA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 3 COUNTIES IN SOUTHWEST NEBRASKA DUNDY HITCHCOCK RED WILLOW THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF ATWOOD, BENKELMAN, BIRD CITY, COLBY, CULBERTSON, GOODLAND, GRAINFIELD, GRINNELL, HILL CITY, HOXIE, LEOTI, MCCOOK, NORTON, OAKLEY, OBERLIN, PALISADE, QUINTER, SHARON SPRINGS, ST. ...FLOOD WATCH NOW IN EFFECT THROUGH THURSDAY EVENING... * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of Colorado, including the following areas, Kit Carson and Yuma, Kansas, including the following areas, Cheyenne KS, Decatur, Gove, Graham, Greeley, Logan, Norton, Rawlins, Sheridan, Sherman, Thomas, Wallace and Wichita, and southwest Nebraska, including the following areas, Dundy, Hitchcock and Red Willow. * WHEN...Through Thursday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in additional flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible.
