Central Perry County in south central Indiana...

* Until 845 PM CDT.

* At 539 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of
rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Mount Pleasant, Leopold, Terry, Gerald, Gatchel, Derby, Bandon,
Lilly Dale, Branchville and Apalona.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.

- At 621 PM EDT /521 PM CDT/, Doppler radar indicated heavy
rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or
expected to begin shortly in the advisory area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
English, Mount Pleasant, Leopold, Branchville, Bandon,
Apalona, Celina, Oriole, Terry and Saint Croix.

- Repeated rounds of showers and thunderstorms capable of heavy
rain are expected late week through the weekend. Already wet
soils in some areas will make flooding more susceptible,
especially with each additional round of rainfall. Localized
significant flooding may develop for areas that see several
inches of rainfall.
