MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of Indiana, including the following counties,
Elkhart, La Porte, St. Joseph and Starke and southwest Michigan,
including the following counties, Berrien, Cass MI and St. Joseph
MI.

* WHEN...Until 1000 AM EDT /900 AM CDT/.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 607 AM EDT /507 AM CDT/, Doppler radar indicated heavy
rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or
expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5
and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
South Bend, Elkhart, Mishawaka, Michigan City, La Porte,
Niles, Benton Harbor, St. Joseph, Three Rivers, Dowagiac,
Westville, Buchanan, Georgetown, Trail Creek, Granger,
Gulivoire Park, Fair Plain, Simonton Lake, Benton Heights and
Osceola.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Yellow River at Plymouth.

* WHEN...From late tonight to Tuesday evening.

* IMPACTS...At 13.5 feet, Some residential and commercial properties
near the Jefferson Street Bridge begin to flood.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 4:45 AM EDT Saturday /3:45 AM CDT Saturday/ the stage was
12.4 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
just after midnight tonight to a crest of 13.4 feet tomorrow
evening. It will then fall below flood stage Monday evening.
- Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

areas, Allen IN, De Kalb, Eastern St. Joseph IN, Elkhart, Fulton
IN, Lagrange, Marshall, Noble, Northern Kosciusko, Northern La
Porte, Pulaski, Southern Kosciusko, Southern La Porte, Starke,
Steuben, Western St. Joseph IN and Whitley and southwest Michigan,
including the following areas, Branch, Cass MI, Northern Berrien,
Southern Berrien and St. Joseph MI.

* WHEN...Through this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur
in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Additional rain and storms may cause areas of flooding today
given saturated soils.
