...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Shelby County in central Indiana... * WHEN...Until 700 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 324 PM EDT, emergency management reported heavy rain in the warned area due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Shelbyville, Edinburgh, Flat Rock, Geneva, Morristown, St. Paul, Fairland, Marietta, Boggstown and Waldron. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Many local roads are impassable. Some evacuations occur in southern parts of Carthage, extreme southern sections of Knightstown, eastern Raysville and rural areas of northwest Rush County. ...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM THIS AFTERNOON TO LATE MONDAY MORNING... * WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Driftwood River near Edinburgh. * WHEN...From this afternoon to late Monday morning. * IMPACTS...At 14.9 feet, Extensive flooding along Driftwood River in northern Bartholomew County on March 7, 2011. Double Y Saddle Club area extensively flooded. Water flowing over CR 950N to Club. CR 330W is flooded just south of its intersection with Ohio Ridge Rd. CR 500N west of CR 250W is flooded blocking vehicular access to residences near the river bank. Lowell Public Access site is completely flooded. Water very near several residences and seasonal homes along CR 330W and CR 325W. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:30 PM EDT Thursday the stage was 9.7 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this afternoon to a crest of 15.3 feet early Saturday afternoon.
