...FLOOD WATCH NOW IN EFFECT THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING... * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of Indiana, including the following counties, Dearborn, Fayette, Franklin, Ohio, Ripley, Switzerland, Union and Wayne, Kentucky, including the following counties, Boone, Bracken, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, Lewis, Mason, Owen, Pendleton and Robertson, and Ohio, including the following counties, Adams, Auglaize, Brown, Butler, Champaign, Clark, Clermont, Clinton, Darke, Delaware, Fairfield, Fayette, Franklin, Greene, Hamilton, Hardin, Highland, Hocking, Licking, Logan, Madison, Mercer, Miami, Montgomery, Pickaway, Pike, Preble, Ross, Scioto, Shelby, Union and Warren. * WHEN...Through Friday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Periods of thunderstorms are possible Thursday evening through the overnight hours. These storms could lead to additional flooding. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Southern Franklin County in southeastern Indiana... Ripley County in southeastern Indiana... Northwestern Switzerland County in southeastern Indiana... * WHEN...Until 100 PM EDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 706 PM EDT, local law enforcement reported flooding in the warned area. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... Batesville, Versailles, Milan, Osgood, Sunman, Holton, Napoleon, Versailles Lake, Otter Village, Olean, Benham, New Marion, Ballstown, Rexville, Cross Plains, Friendship, Penntown and Interstate 74 at State Route 101. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Franklin County in southeastern Indiana... * WHEN...Until 700 AM EDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 658 PM EDT, emergency management and local law enforcement reported flooding in the warned area. Between 6 and 9 inches of rain have fallen. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Local law enforcement and emergency management reported that flooding is occurring near Connersville, Brownsville, and surrounding areas. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... Connersville, Batesville, Brookville, Liberty, West College Corner, Oldenburg, Glenwood, Lake Santee, Salem, Waterloo, Blooming Grove, Columbia, Metamora, Bunker Hill, Brownsville, Laurel, Scipio, College Corner, Cedar Grove and Mount Carmel. Flooding occurs along the river in southern Fayette and northern Franklin Counties, including in Alpine, Nulltown and Laurel. In Connersville, homes between Dora Avenue and the river on the east side of Connersville flood, as well as along Grand Avenue on the south side. Structures flooded in Laurel are mainly along and east of North Franklin Street, with homes south of Commerce Street also flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 3:45 PM EDT Wednesday the stage was 13.1 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late tomorrow morning to a crest of 21.1 feet tomorrow evening.
