* WHAT...For the Gale Warning, west winds 20 to 30 knots today
becoming northwest tonight into Friday morning. Gale force gusts
to 35 knots. Waves 5 to 10 feet today building to 6 to 11 feet
tonight. For the Heavy Freezing Spray Warning, heavy freezing
spray at a rate of 2 cm per hour or greater may rapidly
accumulate on vessels.

* WHERE...Michigan City IN to St Joseph MI.

* WHEN...For the Gale Warning, until 7 AM EST Friday. For the
Heavy Freezing Spray Warning, until 1 AM EST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Operating a vessel in heavy freezing spray is
hazardous. Freezing spray may render mechanical and electronic
components inoperative. Rapid ice accretion on decks and
superstructures may result in a catastrophic loss of
stability. Strong winds will cause hazardous waves which could
capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.

* ADDITIONAL INFORMATION...Conditions hazardous to small craft are
likely Friday into Friday evening.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners should prepare for dangerous accumulation of ice on
their vessel. If possible, remain in port, avoid the warning area
or conduct mitigation.

Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions.

* WHAT...Very cold wind chills between 15 and 25 below zero expected.

* WHERE...Portions of northern Indiana and southwest Michigan.

* WHEN...From 4 AM EST /3 AM CST/ to 1 PM EST /noon CST/ Friday.

* IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 25 below zero
could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.
