...FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 630 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...Southeastern Cook County in northeastern Illinois...
Northern Lake IN County in northwestern Indiana...
Northern Porter County in northwestern Indiana...

* WHEN...Until 630 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding
may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Underpasses may be
flooded. Roads and streets may be flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 410 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or
expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and
1.5 inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over
eastern portions of the advisory area. This additional rain will
result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Hammond, Gary, Tinley Park, Calumet City, Portage, Merrillville,
Valparaiso, Chicago Heights, East Chicago, Schererville, Hobart,
Lansing, Oak Forest, Harvey, Highland, Blue Island, Munster,
Dolton and Park Forest.
