At 234 AM CDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Montrose Harbor to near Diversy Harbor to near
Midway Airport to 8 nm southwest of Ohare Airport, moving southeast
at 45 knots.

HAZARD...Wind gusts to nearly 50 knots.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and
suddenly higher waves.

Locations impacted include...
Harrison-Dever Crib, Burnham Harbor, Hammond Marina, Wilmette Harbor,
Jackson Park Harbor, 31st Street Harbor, Monroe Harbor, Burns Harbor,
Calumet Harbor, Marina Shores at Dune Harbor, Michigan City, and 59th
Street Marina.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass.
Wind gusts to nearly 50 knots, high waves, dangerous lightning, and
heavy rain are possible with these storms.

Frequent lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.

...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 AM CDT EARLY THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of northeast Illinois, including the following
counties, Kankakee and Will and northwest Indiana, including the
following counties, Jasper, Lake IN, Newton and Porter.

* WHEN...Until 500 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Roads
and streets may be flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 203 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated torrential rain
producing thunderstorms over much of the advisory area.
Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen according to radar
estimates.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 1.5 inches are expected
over the areas that receive the heaviest rain rates. Runoff
from the rain that has fallen and additional rainfall will
result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Merrillville, Schererville, Crown Point, Park Forest, Cedar
Lake, Steger, Lowell, Rensselaer, DeMotte, Hebron, Morocco,
Wheatfield, Lake Village, Dyer, St. John, Richton Park,
Crete, University Park, Lakes of the Four Seasons and Monee.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of northeast Illinois, including the following
county, Cook and northwest Indiana, including the following
counties, Lake IN and Porter.

* WHEN...Until 415 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas,
including flooded underpasses, roads, and streets. Creeks and
streams may rise out of their banks.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 119 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms
producing torrential rainfall. Up to 1.5 inches of rain have
fallen according to radar estimates and gauge observations.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over
portions of the advisory area. Runoff from the rain that has
already fallen and additional rainfall will result in
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
South Chicago, Hammond, Gary, Orland Park, Tinley Park, Oak
Lawn, Calumet City, Portage, Merrillville, Valparaiso,
Chicago Heights, Roseland, East Chicago, Schererville,
Hobart, Lansing, Oak Forest, Crown Point, Harvey and Homer
Glen.
