...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM CDT THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana,
including the following counties, southeastern Cook and eastern
Will in Illinois and central Lake County in northwest Indiana.

* WHEN...Until 1000 AM CDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.
Underpasses may be flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 230 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated that the heavy rain
has ended, however 1 to nearly 3 inches of rain fell in the
warning area. This heavy rainfall is likely to result in
flooding of small streams and creeks, as well as low lying
and poor drainage areas.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Merrillville, Chicago Heights, Schererville, Crown Point,
Munster, Park Forest, Matteson, Steger, Dyer, St. John,
Richton Park, Sauk Village, Flossmoor, Lynwood, Glenwood,
Crete, University Park, Olympia Fields, Ford Heights and
South Chicago Heights.

Michigan beaches. Waves 3 to 5 feet expected.

* WHERE...Lake IN and Porter Counties.

* WHEN...From 7 AM CDT this morning through this evening.

* IMPACTS...Swimming conditions will be life threatening,
especially for inexperienced swimmers.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain out of the water to avoid dangerous swimming conditions
and do not venture out onto piers, jetties, breakwalls, or other
shoreline structures.
