* WHERE...White River at Petersburg.

* WHEN...Until Thursday, May 07.

* IMPACTS...At 21.3 feet, State Road 257 south of Washington began
to flood during May 2008 after local rains of more than an inch on
very wet soils with Petersburg at 21.3 feet and rising and Shoals
at 15.5 feet and rising.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 11:30 AM EDT Wednesday /10:30 AM CDT Wednesday/ the stage
was 18.1 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 11:30 AM EDT Wednesday /10:30 AM CDT Wednesday/ was
18.1 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 21.5
feet early Monday morning. It will then fall below flood
stage Thursday, May 07.

early tomorrow afternoon to a crest of 13.3 feet tomorrow

* IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Most of the low bottomlands flood.
Flooding begins in higher bottomlands. High water affects any
residents in Pottsville river cabins. Pottsville Road...North C
Street on river side of railroad tracks and Catt Street near U.S.
Highway 41 are flooded. Water is near or starting on Giro Road in
the vicinity of submerged Pottsville Road. Oil stripped fields
flood. Flood gates must be installed at Hazleton.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 20.7
feet early Monday afternoon. It will then fall below flood

* IMPACTS...At 17.5 feet, Flooding closes Old Vincennes Road.  High
water crosses SR 358 on the Daviess County side just west of the
levee.  Flooding begins to affect higher bottomlands.  Residential
property of river cabins begins to flood.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 7:00 AM EDT Wednesday /6:00 AM CDT Wednesday/ the stage
was 16.0 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 7:00 AM EDT Wednesday /6:00 AM CDT Wednesday/ was
16.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river will rise to 16.6 feet tomorrow morning.
It will then fall tomorrow evening. It will rise to 16.9 feet
early Saturday morning. It will then fall below flood stage
late Sunday morning.

* WHERE...Wabash River at Riverton.

* IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, Extensive lowland flooding is in
progress.  High water surrounds many river cabins.  Access to most
river cabins is by boat only.  Levees begin to protect farmland.
Extensive flooding of Leaverton Park occurs in Palestine, Illinois.

- At 11:00 AM EDT Wednesday /10:00 AM CDT Wednesday/ the stage
was 14.9 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 17.3
feet early Sunday morning. It will then fall below flood

side.  Hutson Creek begins to overflow from backwater.  Old Darwin
Road and a few rural roads in eastern Clark and Crawford counties
in Illinois are impassable.  Low agricultural land floods.
