...FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 415 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Northwestern Cook County in northeastern Illinois... Northwestern DuPage County in northeastern Illinois... * WHEN...Until 415 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Underpasses may be flooded. Roads and streets may be flooded. Slow moving or standing water may continue. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 245 PM CDT, local law enforcement reported flooded roadways in the Itasca area due to heavy rain from thunderstorms. Across the advisory area, minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Flooding impacts will continue, but little to no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Elgin, Arlington Heights, Evanston, Schaumburg, Palatine, Skokie, Des Plaines, Mount Prospect, Hoffman Estates, Glenview, Buffalo Grove, Bartlett, Streamwood, Carol Stream, Hanover Park, Wheeling and Park Ridge. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Roads and streets may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 242 PM CDT, local law enforcement reported flooded roadways and cars stranded in floodwater in the Addison area. Across the advisory area, minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected over the area. Southern DuPage County in northeastern Illinois... Northwestern Will County in northeastern Illinois... * WHEN...Until 515 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Underpasses may be flooded. Roads and streets may be flooded. Slow moving or standing water may continue. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 235 PM CDT, a National Weather Service meteorologist observed several inches of flowing water across roadways in downtown Naperville due to heavy rain from ongoing thunderstorms. Across the advisory area, minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Between 0.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
