* WHEN...Until 330 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1246 PM CDT, trained weather spotters reported heavy rain in
the warned area due to thunderstorms. Flooding is already
occurring. Between 1.5 and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Carbondale, Marion, Herrin, Murphysboro, Du Quoin, Pinckneyville,
Carterville, Johnston City, De Soto, Crainville, Cambria, Energy,
Elkville, Hurst, Ava, Tamaroa, Pittsburg, Creal Springs, Cedar
Lake Area and Lake Of Egypt Area.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE TONIGHT...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southeast Missouri, western
Kentucky, and southwest Indiana.

* WHEN...Through late tonight.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are
possible. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood
with more heavy rain.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- An additional round of rainfall is expected this afternoon and
evening across portions of the area. An additional 0.75-2 inches
of rain is possible. Should storms manage to train over areas
that are already heavily saturated, flash flooding will be a
concern.
