* IMPACTS...Swimming conditions will be life threatening,
especially for inexperienced swimmers. For information on swim

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain out of the water to avoid dangerous swimming conditions
and do not venture out onto piers, jetties, breakwalls, or other
shoreline structures.

At 336 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 6 nm northwest of Ohare Airport to 6 nm west of
Diversy Harbor to near Midway Airport to 14 nm southwest of Hammond
Marina, moving northeast at 40 knots. These storms have a history of
producing wind damage and measured gusts over 60 mph across DuPage
and Will County.

HAZARD...Wind gusts in excess of 50 knots.

SOURCE...Public.

IMPACT...Boats could suffer significant structural damage in high
winds. Small craft could capsize in suddenly higher waves.

Harrison-Dever Crib, Burnham Harbor, Hammond Marina, Wilmette Harbor,
Jackson Park Harbor, 31st Street Harbor, Monroe Harbor, Burns Harbor,

...AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT CDT WEDNESDAY NIGHT...

The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency has issued an Air
Pollution Action Day for Wednesday July 16th for the greater Chicago
metropolitan area through Wednesday night.

A Chicago Area "Air Pollution Action Day" is declared when weather
conditions are such that widespread ozone and or particulate levels
are expected to be at or above the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups
(UGS) category of the Air Quality Index (AQI) for multiple days.
Ozone is expected to be the primary pollutant of concern.

Active children and adults, especially people with pulmonary or
respiratory disease such as asthma, should limit prolonged outdoor
activity.

Area residents are urged to reduce pollution levels. Air quality
forecasts, current air quality, and tips on how you can reduce your
emissions can be found at www.airnow.gov.
