* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Portions of northern and central Illinois and northwest
Indiana.

* WHEN...Until 10 AM CDT /11 AM EDT/ Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Roads and streets may be flooded. Area creeks and
streams are already elevated, increasing the risk of flooding due
to additional rainfall.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Recent rounds of heavy rainfall have left soils saturated and
stream and creek levels elevated across the area. Additional
rounds of heavy rainfall overnight may lead to rapid run-off
and an increased threat of flash flooding.

A Flood Watch for flash flooding means rapid-onset flooding is
possible, but not yet certain, based upon the latest forecasts.

* WHERE...Fox River Lower near New Munster.

* WHEN...From this evening to Wednesday evening.

* IMPACTS...At 12.0 feet, Water is up to the first floor levels of
some homes in the Town of Wheatland and Village of Salem Lakes
area along Riverside Drive and Shorewood Drive.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:00 PM CDT Friday the stage was 11.0 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 9:00 PM CDT Friday was 11.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 11.9
feet Sunday morning. It will then fall below flood stage
early Wednesday afternoon.
- Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
11.7 feet on 05/10/2019.
