Southern Macoupin County in southwestern Illinois...

* Until 315 AM CDT.

* At 1212 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain
have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 2 to 3 inches in 1
hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in
the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Greenville, Litchfield, Hillsboro, Carlinville, Staunton,
Gillespie, Brighton, Mount Olive, Bunker Hill, Benld, Pocahontas,
Taylor Springs, Coffeen, Mulberry Grove, Shipman, Wilsonville,
Schram City, Tamalco, Sorento and Sawyerville.

Beaver Dam State Park and Lake Lou Yaeger.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 55 in Illinois between exits 41 and 52.
Interstate 70 in Illinois between exits 36 and 52.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.

Macoupin IL, Madison IL, Marion IL, Montgomery IL, Pike IL, Saint
Clair IL and Washington IL and Missouri, including the following
areas, Audrain MO, Lincoln MO, Monroe MO, Montgomery MO, Pike MO,
Ralls MO, Saint Charles MO, Saint Louis City MO, Saint Louis MO
and Warren MO.

* WHEN...Through Monday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
