Total snow accumulations between 3 and 5 inches. * WHERE...Boone, Winnebago, Lake IL, and McHenry Counties. * WHEN...From 8 PM this evening to 8 AM CST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Plan on snow covered, slick road conditions, and periods of low visibility. The hazardous conditions will likely impact the Wednesday morning commute, especially in the northern Chicago metro area. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A heavier snow band is expected to develop late this evening into the overnight. If a long enough period of heavier rates occurs, localized snowfall amounts may reach upwards of 5 inches. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Slow down and use caution while traveling.
