...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL FRIDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Wabash River at Terre Haute.

* WHEN...Until Friday evening.

* IMPACTS...At 18.5 feet, Lowest river cabins across from the Wabash
Generating Station begin to flood. Flooding of agricultural land
along U.S. 63 north of Terre Haute, west bank of river and in
southwest Vigo County occurs. County roads flood in southwest Vigo
County. The wetland projects between U.S. 40 and I-70 begin to
slowly fill.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:30 PM EDT Sunday /8:30 PM CDT Sunday/ the stage was 18.4
feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 9:30 PM EDT Sunday /8:30 PM CDT Sunday/ was 19.1
feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
Friday morning and continue falling and remain below flood
stage.
- Flood stage is 16.5 feet.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Wabash River at Riverton.

* WHEN...Until Sunday, June 28.

* IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, Extensive lowland flooding is in
progress.  High water surrounds many river cabins.  Access to most
river cabins is by boat only.  Levees begin to protect farmland.
Extensive flooding of Leaverton Park occurs in Palestine, Illinois.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 10:00 PM EDT Sunday /9:00 PM CDT Sunday/ the stage was
17.6 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 10:00 PM EDT Sunday /9:00 PM CDT Sunday/ was 17.6
feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 18.2
feet early Tuesday morning. It will then fall below flood
stage Sunday, June 28.
- Flood stage is 15.0 feet.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Wabash River at Hutsonville Legacy Power Plant Site.

* WHEN...Until Sunday, June 28.

* IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Leaverton Park in Palestine and park in
Hutsonville begin to flood.  Agricultural flooding spreads to
higher land.  Seep water is noticeable behind levees.  Some
elevated river cottages are surrounded by water.  Several county
or township roads east of Lincoln Heritage Trail between Palestine
and Hutsonville in Crawford County Illinois are impassable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- There is no current observed data.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 19.1
feet early Tuesday afternoon. It will then fall below flood
stage Sunday, June 28.
- Flood stage is 16.0 feet.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 AM CDT MONDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast Illinois, including the following
counties, Clay, Crawford, Effingham, Jasper, Lawrence and Richland.

* WHEN...Until 800 AM CDT Monday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Expect many
areas of slow moving or standing water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 751 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the warned area. Between 2 and 6 inches of rain
have fallen.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Olney, Robinson, Lawrenceville, Newton, Sumner, Bridgeport,
Oblong, Louisville, Edgewood, Mason, Bible Grove, Flat Rock,
Ste. Marie, Willow Hill, Sailor Springs, Russellville,
Bogota, Olney Noble Airport, Chauncey and Lawrenceville
Vincennes Airport.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
