...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM CDT THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...Portions of north central and northeast Illinois,
including the following counties, in north central Illinois,
Boone, De Kalb, Lee, Ogle and Winnebago. In northeast Illinois,
Lake IL and McHenry.

* WHEN...Until 900 AM CDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
Roads and streets may be flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 246 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms, which has since
ended. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain had fallen.
- Flooding impacts may continue into the morning, but no
additional rainfall is expected.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Rockford, Waukegan, Crystal Lake, Gurnee, Round Lake Beach,
McHenry, Belvidere, Woodstock, Zion, Loves Park, Machesney
Park, Grayslake, Libertyville, Round Lake, Dixon, Antioch,
Wauconda, Roscoe, Fox Lake and Harvard.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Advisory means minor flooding along waterways and other poor
drainage areas is imminent or may already be occurring. Persons in
the advisory area should use caution and avoid flood waters.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
