...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM CDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...Portions of central, north central, and northeast Illinois, including the following areas, in central Illinois, Livingston. In north central Illinois, La Salle. In northeast Illinois, Central Cook, DuPage, Eastern Will, Grundy, Kankakee, Kendall, Northern Cook, Northern Will, Southern Cook and Southern Will. * WHEN...Until 8 PM CDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Underpasses may be flooded. Roads and streets may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Slow moving thunderstorms capable of producing very heavy rainfall are expected to develop this afternoon and may linger into the early evening. Given the very moist air mass in place, the most intense thunderstorms will be capable of producing up to 2 inches of rain in an hour or less.
