Central Winnebago County in north central Illinois...

* Until 845 PM CDT.

* At 820 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located near Pecatonica, or 11 miles northwest of Rockford,
moving east at 50 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree
damage is likely.

* This dangerous storm will be near...
Rockford around 825 PM CDT.
Loves Park, Machesney Park, and Roscoe around 830 PM CDT.

Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include

FOR NORTHEASTERN OGLE AND WINNEBAGO COUNTIES...

At 819 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 6 miles northeast of Roscoe to near Pecatonica to 6
miles east of German Valley, moving east at 50 mph.

HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
roofs, and outbuildings.

Rockford, Loves Park, Machesney Park, Roscoe, and Winnebago around
825 PM CDT.
Rockford Airport around 830 PM CDT.
Cherry Valley around 835 PM CDT.

Illinois.

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...Portions of Illinois, including the following areas,
Boone, Central Cook, De Kalb, DuPage, Eastern Will, Kane, Kendall,
Lake IL, McHenry, Northern Cook, Northern Will, Ogle, Southern
Cook, Southern Will and Winnebago and northwest Indiana, including
the following area, Lake IN.

* WHEN...Until 6 AM CDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding
may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Roads and streets may
be flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- An area of thunderstorms with rain rates up to one to two
inches per hour is expected to move through the area this
evening through the overnight hours. Elevated soil moisture
due to recent rainfall is expected to increase the
susceptibility to flash flooding.
