At 1005 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Sandwich to near Serena to 7 miles north of Ottawa to near Wenona, moving east at 55 mph. This line of storms has a history of producing wind damage. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include... Ottawa, Yorkville, Streator, Plano, Sandwich, Marseilles, South Streator, Newark, Grand Ridge, Oswego, Montgomery, Seneca, Morris, Boulder Hill, Joliet, Plainfield, Mazon, Channahon, Minooka, Dwight, Coal City, Diamond, Gardner and Braceville. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms.
