...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH LATE TONIGHT... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...Portions of central, east central, and west central Illinois, including the following counties, in central Illinois, De Witt, Logan, Macon, Marshall, Mason, McLean, Menard, Peoria, Piatt, Stark, Tazewell and Woodford. In east central Illinois, Champaign and Vermilion. In west central Illinois, Fulton and Knox. * WHEN...From 1 PM CDT this afternoon through late tonight. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A narrow band of showers and/or thunderstorms are forecast to set up in a west-east orientation across central IL, where the flooding and very heavy rain occurred late last week, this afternoon into the late evening.
