In addition, west- northwest winds will gust up to 40 mph. The heavier snow showers will result in localized visibility reductions and a quick accumulation under one inch. If traveling be aware of rapidly changing conditions and slick roads in spots.

...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 3 AM TO NOON CST MONDAY... * WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 10 to 20 below expected late tonight and Monday morning. * WHERE...Portions of central, east central, and west central Illinois. * WHEN...From 3 AM to noon CST Monday. * IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 20 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.
